Hello, my name is

Helena Pedersen

I was born in Powell River BC and lived here until the mid 70's. After travelling overseas to attend a textile school in Denmark I made my home in Victoria where I briefly studied Fine Arts and raised my two children Emma and Nathan. Oncthey grew up and moved out I decided to return to Powell River to focus on my arts.

I tend towards realism, but aim to keep it loose enough that your mind is able to create a world of your own. I love intense colour as much as colours faded by age, the delicate hues that get lost in the mad rush to brilliance and the Patina of old metal. My art highlights the overlooked objects and places of the West Coast.... I hope my paintings take you there as well!
